ORIENTATE:International Symposium

Orientate presents a selection of speakers who have made a significant contribution to contemporary glass. Speakers from Ireland, UK, Europe and America will take part in this event which promises to be an exciting day of interaction and dialogue. 

 

Glass is a material, but for a number of people it forms their professional practice.Coming from critical, curatorial, writing, making and design backgrounds, the variety of professional fields represented is a deliberate action by GSoI. We are eager to examine modes of current research, ranging from archival to theoretical. This will uncover how contextualising the material has underpinned glass as an occupation - exploring how we orientate ourselves around the material.
